I Can't

hi hi! we had a fun weekend at a wedding in newport, ri - congrats K&L! but it was also our first weekend away from the boys both at the same time. they are so freakin cute, i was so excited to get back to them yesterday! time away is good though, makes you have a renewed appreciation.

so remember when i said that i was planning to decorate my guest room in all one color (yellow)? well i can't. i'm weak. no willpower. i was looking for fabrics and came across this floral.

it's from a british company called clarke & clarke and it's so so sooo out of my normal realm of geometrics/bold/large scale patterns. (also it's not blue but i'm trying very hard to decorate one room of my house without using blue.) it feels very old fashioned but i think that's why i'm drawn to it oddly. anyway i love it. like i really love it and i think it would make beautiful drapes. and i might add that it even has birds and i hate birds. like actual birds in the wild. but maybe i can handle them on a fabric?

i think it could create a very calming, peaceful retreat for guests. am i nuts? i would need a slipcover for the wing chair because i adore the fabric that's on there and want to keep it but for now it wouldn't go. something as simple as this?

do you love it or think i'm crazy? i feel like this is one of those that you either love or hate. i'm realizing that it feels a little shabby chic/rachel ashwell-esque which is funny because i just read a great post on that style and thought "so not me." hmmm

Haha! Obviously, I love it! But I think a guest room is the perfect place to try something outside of your comfort zone because you don't have to live in it. I say go for it!!
