Backsplash Baby!!

another fun reveal today - our kitchen backsplash!! y'all this might be my most favorite thing i've ever done in a house! it completely changed the kitchen and as a few people have said who have seen it in person...it just looks finished now. you might have looked at our kitchen before and thought, it's fine, why bother adding a backsplash? but then after, and this was even my husband's first reaction, it's like ohhhh that looks so much better. :)

the tile looks darker in these photos than in real life. i need to learn how to take better photos! anyway, the backsplash also makes the kitchen feel like a separate room which with our very open kitchen/family room set up - that i love - is a good thing.

the best decision i made was to bring the tile above the window. it really was a no brainer and was completely worth any extra cost.

and now the new pendants and hardware make total sense right? the last couple of pieces in the kitchen refresh project (as i like to call it!) are changing the yellow walls to something a little calmer - thinking of blue-gray at the moment and adding a roman shade to the window (i think but then sometimes i think i like the bare window?!).

for locals, i purchased the tile from forever tile and it was installed by dave morrell. just so happy with how it came out!
