Outdoor Lighting

a little while ago i mentioned that i was inspired by the lights i saw on this storefront:

exterior lighting can really give a house some personality and since we moved into our house, i've wanted to add lights between the garage doors. i'm kind of surprised that lights weren't already there. but then i could say the same thing about so many things in this house. anyway isn't our garage begging for some lights? oh wait, maybe that's me begging.

i love the gooseneck shape of the lights in the first picture - the industrial style reminds me of something you would find on a beautiful barn. much like this one:

swoon. i began googling (what exactly did we do before google?) and found barn light electric which designs tons of lights in this style.

and then i saw this and if you read this blog, you know that means it was quickly in my shopping cart!

even the name is right (think barn)! you can get any of their lights in about 80 finishes. maybe that's an exaggeration but not by much. take a look at their finish chart. (i chose painted rosewood in case you're really wondering). i also thought the feel of the "colt" went well with the rest of the outside lights at our house:

hopefully they'll look even better in person and i'll share an update once they're installed! do you have some exterior lights that need some updating, or like in my case, are non-existent? what's your style preference?
