Exterior Updates

have i mentioned the company boxed here before? it's like an online costco type of thing. they have large quantities of random stuff and their inventory is always changing. they have organic brands for the littles and even honest company products! anyway, they gave me a $15 off any order code to pass along so i gladly will! type MIS3B to save! and shipping is crazy fast, like next day!

last week i was outside watering our newly planted sod and bushes when a very nice woman walked by and said she thought our house was looking "wonderful." it seriously made me beam. we've tried hard to take it from builder-boring to homey and charming. actually that's not totally fair - it wasn't boring when we bought it but it had potential to be a lot cozier. i thanked her of course and said that we're trying to make it look more personal and she said we've succeeded. so nice. i took a few pics and thought i'd share the progress thus far.

our shutters came in (for the second time, fingers crossed they're right this time - i haven't seen them yet!) and i really hope they add to the look and they aren't too much. i hate when self-doubt and second guessing creeps in!

hello there. i'm tired and busy and have no time thus a very random post for today.. but we did have a good weekend! pool, playing, and ice cream for the boys. and some lounging and wine for the adults :)

a few weeks ago i painted a little table red for C's room (posted it on ig) but i decided it was too bright red. unfortunately in order to repaint it i had to sand the whole thing down first which was my project yesterday. i hate sanding bleh. but it's done so this week i can try out a new color (and this time test it on something first!).

we also somehow ended up getting a new outdoor table. actually this was a sanctioned purchase and something we needed. our current table squeezes 6 but if you want to put any food on it then good luck. we had some people over a few weekends ago and it was embarrassing trying to fit everyone. the new one can seat up to 10 but the best part is that it's an extension table and the two leaves fold up in the table so there's no hassle with taking them out and storing them. like this...

in my haste on friday, i forgot to include one of the best sales going on - serena and lily! my mom is getting new twins beds for their guest room and ordered the new balboa headboards. love.

there are so many things on my wishlist from s&l. their summer catalog makes me want to pick up and move to california like yesterday.

Friday Finds: Etsy Art & A Discount!

it's a good thing i had a bunch of posts already written and lined up this week because we've had the week from h e double hockey sticks health-wise. both of my poor little ones were hit hard with a bug and after three visits to the pedi in four days, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. needless to say, life has been on hold!

on to the friday finds...it's been a long looong time since i've done one of these posts but i've accumulated quite a few favorites on etsy lately that i'd thought i'd share! a lot of different things qualify as "artwork" in my book and they don't have to be fancy at all or involve paint brushes.

blue clara is a shop on etsy that creates amazing silhouettes. i've seen them with my own two eyes and they genuinely look like the subjects. and the owner, jamie, is as nice as can be.

p.s. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! my hubby's least favorite holiday ever haha! we are staying in and cooking ourselves a nice meal. and hopefully getting to sleep through the night - ahh the romance :)
