Pins I've Pinned and Posts I've Liked

what a week!!! what a seriously amazing and fabulous week! thank you SO much for all of the comments and messages about my new brand and website. the response has blown me away. again thank you to coast to coast studio for all of their hard work. and i'm not sure if i said it before but thank you to my clients for trusting me with their houses and letting me help them make their homes feel so special.

then last night i happened to be browsing the studio mcgee blog and saw a photo from the #plainroadproject included in their roundup on this post. pretty nice way to finish up such a wonderful week! 💙

so i might as well pay it forward! i asked the question on instagram earlier this week but is anyone else's saved folder in instagram exploding lately? i have so many beautiful images saved and it's the perfect time to round them up here.

can we say mudroom envy?!

(who also happens to live in the neighborhood next to mine)

such a beautiful way to do christmas. none of the glam or glitz, just simple.

this kitchen stopped me cold. I WANT.

this front door situation is screaming my name. the white brick and the gray is so good.

i pretty much love everything lexi westergard does and this office nook is no exception!

i've lost steam and i'm skipping pinterest tonight but you can always just follow me there to see too! happy friday everyone!

Christmas Tree Giveaway And An Exciting Announcement!

hi hi hi! so many fun things to catch up on today so let me jump right in! first, it's mr. r's birthday and so a very happy birthday to my partner in crime. we celebrated a bit this weekend and will do some more today too. we love you!

next! i posted a very fun giveaway on instagram - go to this post for all of the details on how to enter. basically it's a choice of a flocked lit or unlit christmas tree from king of christmas which i've heard has amazing trees! so please go enter if you haven't already. even if you already have your tree for this year, there's always next year! or a second tree?!

and can i tell a little secret? we're going faux this year too. 😬😬😬 it took a LOT of convincing on my part - mr. r threw a small fit and i don't really blame him. but after thinking about the convenience factor and the fact that he wants to have the tree in our family room this year (we've always put it in the office in past years for space reasons), it felt like the right decision. i was worried about the new rug in the family room and hauling a tree in through the room plus needles and sap and all that good stuff. granted, it feels completely sacrilege - neither of us has ever had a fake tree and it feels very unnatural. so to appease the side of us that felt we would be missing out on the family tradition of going to pick a tree, we got a smaller, real one for our porch together as a family. it's actually super cute, i love it! here's hoping that when the other tree comes, we will be happy with this decision!!

and last but not least, i have an exciting announcement on a personal note - over the last month i've been working with coast to coast studio on a new brand for my business - new website, logos, and eventually email. the new website is probably more grown up than i am but it feels incredibly good to have a cohesive place that better represents all of my hard work in the last two years. it has been exhilarating to work on and makes my stomach flip all at the same time - probably a good sign! i can’t wait to show it to you all. 💙

happy hump day! i'm back with another edition of pinterest and instagram goodies. lots of varied looks today, all of which i love for different reasons. that's definitely something i love about social media - you can find inspiration everywhere and even though i might not choose all of it for myself, i sure do appreciate it.

i'm loving the simple layering of this entry wall.

i love this bedroom that becki owens recently completed. and this shot with all the neutrals is perfection.

Shop The Post: Mudroom

work and snow have been taking up my days and nights lately and i'm still catching up from being away for nearly two weeks. anyone else take a while to get back in the groove? you should see our laundry room. 😳

today i thought i'd do a "shop the post" with our mudroom. i get a lot of questions about the monogrammed baskets i have above the cubbies, so here are all of the details!

the canvas bins have held up extremely well. we're constantly pulling things in and out and the canvas is sturdy enough that i can always reshape the bin if it gets out of whack. i have to say that the top level of storage is pretty useless because i can't reach it without a ladder (or doing some fancy spiderman moves). but i won't complain about having extra storage - as long as i remember what i put up there! 😉 we added the pendant last fall and it really made the room. i had waffled for a long time and i'm glad i finally pulled the trigger. i love this fixture!

Shop The Post: Living Room

trying out a new kind of blog post today - in favor of full transparency, i signed up for rewardstyle which is a company that helps bloggers/instagrammers earn money from things they post and recommend. it's been a long time coming and i decided to finally take the plunge. so some my links are now "monetized" but instead of hiding it, i want to be really open about it. thank you for helping me build this blog, my instagram account, and my business as a whole. 🙏

anyway! i thought i'd start this series with yesterday's post and our new living room sofa plus a few pillows.

we can be a little impulsive and this was one of those moments where we definitely acted fast but no regret here at all. this sofa is for real comfortable, a gorgeous color, and often on sale!

the art is from minted and the print is called staredown. i love the laid back vibe.

i also had a few questions on the pillows so here are the details (from left to right)!

1. walter g dash dot pillow

2. furbish studio cactus silk pillow

3. john robshaw jirwan pillow

4. unfortunately the one i have from pottery barn is no longer available but this peter dunham pillow would be a fab substitute - maybe better!

5. carolina irving amazon pillow

and just for kicks, these were popular from another post!

1. john robshaw diwan

2. leather pillow

let me know if there are other instagram posts that you want to see in this format!!

Goodbye 2016!

what a year 2016 was, on so many fronts. for me personally and professionally, it was a year of huge growth. when i started my business in the summer of 2015, i really wasn't sure where i wanted to take it or if it was even going to be viable. this year my business really grew and went to another level and i have to say i'm pretty proud of that! i'm incredibly grateful to all of my clients who trusted me with their homes. i took on larger and more complex projects that take time and patience but in the end are so worth it. whether my clients know it or not, they pushed me to move outside my comfort zone which is so hard but critical to making this whole thing a success. i can't wait to share some of the design work in the new year and i also can't wait to see where my clients take me in 2017.

i'm also so grateful to the community of people and businesses on instagram who showed me major love this year - one kings lane, studio mcgee, and serena & lily to name a few! it's hard to put out high quality and fresh content every day - or even every week! - and i really admire the people who do.

and just for kicks i wanted to see what my IG top nine looks like for 2016 and i love that it's a mix of my home, client projects, and other designers who i admire.

so, thank you! and here's to a kick ass 2017!!

various family members thought i should remove the political commentary that i had here before - so i'm taking their advice. although part of me feels like this is my blog and i can write what i want. ;) hopefully no one was put off by my (very brief) thoughts about the election!

anyway! super late post today but wanted to do an pinterest/instagram post really quick! pins first...

Pins I've Pinned And Posts I've Liked

newest installment of pinterest and instagram favorites!

studio mcgee has been unveiling their windsong project last week and this week and let's just say i could pin the whole thing but i narrowed it down to a few favorites. first, this is the basement if you can believe it. aren't those built ins so fresh and modern?

between the vanity, the walls, and the floor tile i'm not sure there could be a better bathroom. plus i adore those mirrors. i have one in our powder room and the rounded corners just add that perfect little detail.

last but not least the eating area off the kitchen is OFF THE HOOK. i'm obsessed. no other way to put it.

this bedroom by theresa rowe is just so good. it's peaceful and interesting at the same time. a look that's not always easy to accomplish!

moving on to instagram, i always love a good progress shot. have you been following along with dina's (@honeyandfitz) home gut/renovation? the good stuff is happening like these herringbone floors.

this entry by @kellynuttdesign is full of stuff we just don't see here in historic new england and i eat every little bit up.

@gemmavanderswaagh takes the most gorgeous photos and her design sense is just spot on and unique. lucky for me, we live very close to each other!

happy friday and weekend everyone!!
