Beaded Chandelier

over thanksgiving my mom, a friend of hers, and i went on a house tour and the first house we went to turned me green with envy. pictures inside were strictly forbidden but to give you a feel, i did sneak a shot of the exterior:

it looks fake doesn't it? unfortunately i didn't get a shot of the view on the other side of the house. there was a pool, pool house, some other sort of out building, and manicured lawn that led right to the water with ridiculous 180 degree views. but i digress.

the interior finishes in this house were sick which is not exactly surprising judging from the outside. a few things that stuck with me from the inside and one of them was a gorgeous turquoise beaded chandelier. this thing was HUGE and was the centerpiece of a "little" eating area off the kitchen. so i thought i'd do a little hunting around to see what's out there in the beaded chandelier world.

this is the closest that i could find (and it's a pretty close match). to put it in perspective, this baby goes for $6,900!!!

a much more economical version, the celon chandelier from ballard:

here's one made out of shells instead of beads:

in my googling i came across this blog post where the author actually made her own chandelier. impressive!

so is this look for you? i'd love to try it out in a non-traditional space like maybe a bedroom or a (big) bathroom!
