Backsplash?

hello. sorry i have been mia. blogger was not allowing me to upload pictures which is kinda the whole point of a blog like this one soooo, i was out %$&! out of luck. i guess i could have posted something just saying that but that's boring. ok, on to better things...

here is a picture of our kitchen (pre-move, it's not exactly so bare now).

and here is a close up of the part behind the range.

kind of like a mosaic of carrara marble. it's pretty, i like it, and i'm trying to think of ideas for what might look good around the rest of the back walls. what do you think?

what else? other ideas? i'm just afraid of mixing too many materials. the perimeter counters are honed black granite, the island is a light granite with bit of tan, gold, and black, and the range backsplash is marble. already a lot going on!
