the weekends lately have been busy and short. anyone else feel that way? we have a vacation coming up and i'm praying i can make it!! so i feel like this is the longest time coming but i can finally start sharing our home updates and improvements that we made last fall. yay!! i'll kick it off with the smallest space, our powder room which has undergone a few transformations.
when we moved in there wasn't even a mirror and i immediately hated the sink and cabinet. there was no room to put anything on the (non-existent) counter and the sink was so shallow, water just sprayed out of it. washing little hands was kind of disastrous.
then i added some hot pink wallpaper which was a total mistake (and blogged about here).
ouch hurts your eyes right?! so then i changed the wallpaper and now finally updated the vanity (plus mirror and lighting). i love it so much.
i decided to choose a custom cabinet to fit the space. i wanted a clean look so i went with inset cabinetry and a white quartz top. i had the fabricator miter a 2" edge which is a good trick and way to fake a thicker counter. i also decided to have no overhang on the counter so it fits the cabinet base cleanly.

the mirror is from restoration hardware and i love the super simple rounded corners. i went with brass for the lighting, mirror, and knobs and chrome for the faucet. the mix of finishes make it feel more interesting and i love the non-matchy matchy look.
the huge black and white photo makes the space look so much bigger.
