The Cape

or "the cod" as one of our friends from out-of-town once called it! we are lucky enough to spend some time in the summers on the cape, and specifically in the town of cotuit. it's one of those quintessential new england towns with sickeningly cute shingled houses lining the streets, many overlooking the water.

even though i didn't grow up in this area, i've always had a fondness for cape-style architecture - my kind of eye candy! here are just a handful of the many eligible homes that i shot this month while walking lily the dog, camera in hand, and feeling like a major tourist (and also a little bit of a creep!).

this one is actually on the market...for a cool $1.3M but it's so freakin cute:

i'll wait for them to take the 1 off the 1.3 :)

i would be happy just to live in this garage:

which has this entrance:

my favorite blue door:

same house, side view with picket fence and enviable manicured lawn:

new construction with awesome details:

picture perfect:

same house, street view:

the cape and islands are synonymous with window boxes and this one is perfect:

just another pretty one:

with a fantastic octagonal porch (the ceiling is painted a soft blue-green which is hard to see in this pic):

the house we're lucky enough to call home:

and the joy of summer - at least from the guys' point of view - the outdoor shower:

some beeeeauuutiful gardens:

it's also easy to get distracted by the views:

cotuit bay with the vineyard sound beyond:

that's all, hope you enjoyed and the pics took you away for a minute! sad that labor day is fast approaching - i hope everyone enjoys their last days of summer!
