so it took waaaaay longer than we ever thought but our house is all painted up and looking mighty fine if i do say so myself. i ended up going with rockport gray plus 25% darker for the main color which for me was the perfect mix of gray and brown. linen white on the trim and black on the doors. (all benjamin moore colors)
and because i think these things are better with the before & after effect, here's the before:
and now!
it's hard to tell in these pics but the house color really is different from what it was, not drastically, but noticeably.
btw, for anyone who noticed, new doormats are on order (thanks mom!) because you can't have a freshly painted house and nasty doormats! and also the thresholds hadn't been stained yet when i took these pics. anyway, glad it's done but also glad they took the time to do a thorough job!

Looking very snappy! Nice front entrance now with the new door and light fixture too.
Looks great! We are in the process of determing what color to paint our brick house...I swear the neighbors must have the police watching us as we have snappeda photo of nearly every grey and black house in the neighborhood.
Your house looks fantastic! I love the new color and the black doors!
Awesome paint color picks. I am picking the same colors for my colonial. Your after photo sold me on the rockport gray +25%. Thanks
