Backsplash Inspiration

hellooooo! i didn't fall off the face of the earth or anything. i don't know what happened last week. i had been doing so well with postings too! fell off the wagon but hopefully back on again.

i've been obsessing over kitchen backsplashes lately and found some inspiration on pinterest that has me majorly considering color. i was not leaning that way at all - classic white subway or carrera subway. and then my mom raised one good question - will this look dated in 5 years? will i look at it and think this was so 2013? that thought horrifies me actually because i like to think that my taste is fairly classic and not trendy. or equally as bad - would i get sick of it? so opening it up to you - what do you think?

one potential drawback - most of these kitchens have light counters and i have black...hmmm...
