Eeee She's Here!!! (And Other Things Too!)

remember this vintage dresser?

well she's got a new home and she looks smashing. i love her. i love her glossiness and her shiny gold hardware and her faux bambooness and the way she looks in our room. :)

so on the accessories - i'm also trying to put some final touches on the room so it feels more finished. one of my downfalls is that i get the main concept and the big pieces of a room done but never get around to finishing everything off. i'm also not very good at styling. but i've been using pinterest to help. still need to hang a piece of art above to finish it off.

the gold lamp is from land of nod (comes in silver and white too) and i've had my eye on it for a while what do you think? i opted for the hot pink shade too. i was worried that it would be too much but in the end i think it works. the flowers are from pottery barn from a long time ago but they always have faux ones in the summer. the vase is from villeroy and boch. the little aqua vase is from crate and barrel forever ago. the zebra plate is by jonathan adler.

ps the carpet is new! it's a wool remnant that was a fantastic price and cut to exactly the right size for the room. the striped rug was very pretty - i'm going to miss the stripes (hint hint - yard sale!!!) - but it was really the wrong size for the space. too wide and too short. but turned the other way, too narrow. we also had this echo going on in our room and in a big room, the cotton rug didn't do anything for sound deafening. but now with the thicker, bigger rug, the echo is gone. anyway i love love love scoring a great remnant! for those in the boston area, i went to dover rug and home.
