Affordable Fabrics

a friend of mine is considering starting a business (see one of her projects here) which got me thinking about some of my favorite affordable fabric sources. new fabric can completely transform a single piece or an entire room from old and boring to fresh and well, new.

first up: premier prints. there are so many great fabrics from this company, i'm not sure how to choose just a few to show here. best advice - go to the website and go nuts.

fabric.com

i just ordered this robert allen fabric for a little project i'm doing:

another great geometric from dwell studio for robert allen:

check out this waverly pattern at a ridiculously great price:

joann fabrics:

i have rediscovered joann recently since the days of picking out fabrics and patterns for halloween costumes with my mom. what i love about this store is they carry lines like annie selke at amazing prices.

LS fabrics:

based in atlanta, ga this website has some great fabrics like this ikat.

and last but not least is spoonflower. have you heard of this site? you can upload your own designs and have it created in your own fabric. or if you are like me and are lacking in graphic design skills, you can buy fabric that other people have designed! example: i typed "chevron" in the search box and this popped up:

you can even choose the type of fabric you want the design printed on or get a swatch.

so, does this inspire you to recover an old chair or maybe get some new pillows made?
