Backsplash Baby!!

another fun reveal today - our kitchen backsplash!! y'all this might be my most favorite thing i've ever done in a house! it completely changed the kitchen and as a few people have said who have seen it in just looks finished now. you might have looked at our kitchen before and thought, it's fine, why bother adding a backsplash? but then after, and this was even my husband's first reaction, it's like ohhhh that looks so much better. :)

 and after :)

the tile looks darker in these photos than in real life. i need to learn how to take better photos! anyway, the backsplash also makes the kitchen feel like a separate room which with our very open kitchen/family room set up - that i love - is a good thing.

the best decision i made was to bring the tile above the window. it really was a no brainer and was completely worth any extra cost.

and now the new pendants and hardware make total sense right? the last couple of pieces in the kitchen refresh project (as i like to call it!) are changing the yellow walls to something a little calmer - thinking of blue-gray at the moment and adding a roman shade to the window (i think but then sometimes i think i like the bare window?!).

for locals, i purchased the tile from forever tile and it was installed by dave morrell. just so happy with how it came out!

What color are your cabinets? We have dark counters too
and I want a creamy white to coordinate instead of a stark white and yours looks perfect!

These are a color that the cabinet company has as one of it's standard choices, not one that we specified unfortunately.
