the tile looks darker in these photos than in real life. i need to learn how to take better photos! anyway, the backsplash also makes the kitchen feel like a separate room which with our very open kitchen/family room set up - that i love - is a good thing.
the best decision i made was to bring the tile above the window. it really was a no brainer and was completely worth any extra cost.
and now the new pendants and hardware make total sense right? the last couple of pieces in the kitchen refresh project (as i like to call it!) are changing the yellow walls to something a little calmer - thinking of blue-gray at the moment and adding a roman shade to the window (i think but then sometimes i think i like the bare window?!).

What color are your cabinets? We have dark counters too
and I want a creamy white to coordinate instead of a stark white and yours looks perfect!
These are a color that the cabinet company has as one of it's standard choices, not one that we specified unfortunately.
